Carbon Fiber Wheels make AMA Pro Racing Debut in Las Vegas - Joe Kopp Podiums

Las Vegas (Nov. 20, 2015) For the first time in history, Carbon Fiber Wheels were used in AMA Pro Racing. And for the first time in history, a Carbon Fiber Wheeled bike podiumed in an AMA Pro Racing event.

At 46, Joe Kopp came out of retirement to race the final round of the 2015 AMA Pro Flat Track series in Las Vegas.

When Joe heard about the SuperPrestigio in Vegas, he thought it would be fun to race in it.  But there was a problem: to get an entry for the SuperPrestigio on Saturday, he would have to win the GNC 1 race on Friday.  For most people, that might be the end of it, but if you’re Joe Kopp, you build a world class motorcycle and head to Vegas .

Joe showed up with the best looking bike at the race.  His immaculately prepared Husqvarna featured GPS Racing/BST Carbon Fiber Wheels.

Kopp knew it was a long shot, but he rode spectacularly and came as close as you can get, finishing second!

Joe’s second place finish is the first time a Husky has finished on the podium at any AMA Pro Flat Track race.

It’s also the first time a bike with Carbon Fiber Wheels has finished on the podium at any AMA Pro Flat Track race.  Not bad for our very first AMA Pro Flat Track race!

Congratulations Joe!   You Rock!

Carbon Fiber Wheels Allowed In AMA Pro Flat Track

Oakdale, California (Sept. 16, 2015) –For the first time, carbon fiber wheels will be allowed in AMA Pro Flat Track competition. After the 2015 Delmar round, riders can use the carbon fiber wheels from GPS Racing.

We partnered with BST of South Africa to make the wheels. BST manufactures the carbon fiber portion and bonds it to a billet GPSR hub.

Before AMA Pro Flat Track decided to allow our wheels in competition, they reviewed stress test data for impact, torsional, radial, and cornering loads. The data shows that the wheels exceed TUV, DOT, and JWL safety standards.

We are proud to introduce carbon fiber wheel technology to flat track. When races can be won or lost by hundredths of a second, racers need the best equipment and technology that’s available.

Made for framer and DTX models, the wheels are in stock and available.

Sac Mile

Sacramento, California (May 30 2015) — Congratulations Nick! In front of a home crowd, GPS Racing’s Nick Armstrong won a hard fought battle with Tristan Avery to win the 2015 Sacramento Mile GNC2. It was a thrilling race. On the final lap the two riders were neck-and-neck, but Nick put his wheel across the line first to win his first AMA Pro Flat Track race. After four rounds, Nick moves to first in the GNC2 point standings!
